    The location of the Ghetto of Dej. In May of 1944, the jews of Dej and the surrounding towns were forced into the ghetto,located in the Bungar Forrest. Approximately 7,500 men, women and children were placed in the forrest, with no provisions for housing, water, or food, for one month. Of the approximately 7, 500 jews of Dej, representing 25% of the entire population of Dej, most were exterminated in the gas chambers of Auschwitz. Today, in 2009, there are 5 jews living in Dej. 5!
